We're Engaged!

I am still in shock that Tyler and I are engaged! I am excited to share the story of the proposal and how perfect the day was.

Tyler was on spring break from law school a couple weeks ago, so I flew down to Charleston to meet him for a few days. As y'all know, Charleston is my favorite place on earth. We stayed at the Inn at Middleton Place which is located right next to the beautiful Middleton Place Plantation. We stayed there back in the fall and fell in love with the plantation. On March 6, Tyler arranged for us to take a carriage ride around the plantation. After the carriage ride, we walked around the gardens for a couple of hours and simply enjoyed the plantation grounds. He eventually led me under a live oak tree that overlooked the Ashley River that had spanish moss hanging down from it. It was absolutely beautiful. This is where he proposed. It was the happiest moment of our lives! I was shaking throughout the entire proposal and just couldn't believe it. Afterwards, Tyler told me he had another surprise and pointed to a professional photographer that he had hired to capture the proposal. I was completely shocked! Afterwards, we took a bunch of pictures together and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon outside. I was so excited to call our families and tell them the good news (which they already knew). We wanted to enjoy the engagement before telling everyone so we waited until after dinner to tell our friends the good news.

Tyler literally did everything perfect from driving to Little Washington to ask my dad's permission to setting up the most romantic day. I am just so excited for our life to begin!

Here are a few pictures from the proposal!

Thank y'all for your love and support of Tyler and I! We are so excited for all of the planning to start!

My Life Lately

Wow, it's been a long time since I've blogged! Please forgive me. I figured I would give y'all some updates on what I have been doing since I last blogged. I had about a month off of work so I was able to go home and spend time with family and friends. One of the highlights of my time off, was going to NYC for a few days with Tyler. I had never been before but I am certainly in love with the city now. We fit in as much as we could for just staying 4 nights, but we could have stayed for weeks doing all the fun things in the city. We are already talking about planning our next trip. I would love to go in the spring so it's not too cold and we can spend time in Central Park. Tyler spent his first Christmas Eve with my family which meant so much to me. After Christmas, we went to Tennessee to spend a few days with Tyler's family. I truly enjoyed my time with friends and family on my time off.

Celebrating Katie's graduation at her oyster roast. I sure do miss being by the ocean and going to oyster roasts.

Our first night NYC! We stayed a couple blocks away from Times Square.

The view from the Empire State Building was incredible.

Granny and I gave each other matching J Crew cardigans for Christmas. Great minds think alike!

Lilly's 2nd Christmas!

I'm now back at the University of Arkansas helping our chapter this semester. While it has been an adjustment getting back in the swing of things, I am so happy to be back with my girls for the spring semester.

So Much to be Thankful For

I spent last week back in North Carolina for Thanksgiving. There is nothing like going home to spend time with family and friends. I went back and forth between Raleigh and Little Washington to spend time with my family and Tyler's. I enjoyed sitting around and talking with those that mean the most to me. I, of course, found time for shopping while I was home. I'm not really into Black Friday shopping with hundreds of people but I did go to the outlets and found a couple Christmas gifts Friday evening. I'll be back home next week so I can officially start shopping.

Keerg: Sorority Jewelry

During the summer, one of my close friends and sorority sister asked me to help her and her husband with a new company they were working on. Some of my sisters went and modeled the jewelry Lyndsay and Jon had designed. Their company, Keerg is an exclusive sorority jewelry line. You can choose from gorgeous pieces and have your sorority's greek letters engraved on them. They offer all Panhellenic sororities. All of their pieces are one of a kind. I have the ring and I love it! One of my favorite parts of their jewelry line is that $5 of every purchase will be donated to your sorority's philanthropy. I am extremely passionate about Phi Mu's philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and this is an amazing way to give back. Take a look at their website and all of the beautiful pieces they currently offer.

Fall in Charleston

Hey Y'all! I'm sorry that I haven't blogged in a while. I have been so busy with work and enjoying my time in Arkansas. I promise that I am going to start blogging more. Just a few updates...

I was able to go home this past week. It's true that you don't realize how much you miss home until you are away from it. There certainly is no place like home and the Carolinas. I haven't seen my family, friends or Tyler since July so I was very excited to see everyone. It worked out perfectly because it was Tyler's fall break in law school so we went to Charleston this past weekend. Charleston is my favorite city and we always try to go there a couple times during the year. We stayed at The Inn at Middleton Place which is on Middleton Place Plantation. This was our first time going there and it was so beautiful and relaxing! If you enjoy going to Charleston, I certainly recommend trying to stay here. We spent time on the plantation and in the gardens, shopping on King Street and of course eating at all the local places. I had such a wonderful time at home. I am so grateful for the time I was able to spend with those who mean the most to me.

Polka Dot Lovin'

I just love fall fashion!  I am obsessing over all of the polka dot things that are out this fall.  I have spent the past few days looking online for new polka dot items and convincing myself not to buy ALL of them.  Here are some of my favorites.

Welcome Home

Where do I even begin with how amazing the last few weeks have been?  They have certainly been busy but wonderful.  We welcomed home around 200 girls to Phi Mu at the University of Arkansas.  I am so proud to be a part of restarting our Alpha Beta chapter.  I am enjoying getting to know all the sweet girls and can't wait to make memories with them!

Just a few of my favorite pictures...
